A root cause medicine approach aims to uncover and treat the underlying causes of disease instead of just managing symptoms. It is patient-centered, which means it focuses on the whole person (mental, physical, emotional, environmental) rather than isolated symptoms. Naturopathic medicine, functional medicine, and other holistic healing systems often employ this approach.
Root cause medicine has these key aspects:
Individualized treatments
Collaboration between patient and practitioner
Proactive, prevention-oriented
Evidence-based and data driven
Use of comprehensive testing that helps get a detailed understanding of a patient’s health picture
Simply put: Root cause medicine seeks to understand the “why” behind a condition, supporting long-term health & healing.

To ensure the highest standard of care, my practice does not bill insurance directly. If you have a PPO, I am happy to issue a Superbill, which is a detailed document that shows the list of medical services you were provided. You can submit the Superbill to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

In my practice, I take the time to get to know you, understand your unique needs, and collaborate with you in your health. We’ll work as a team to tackle your health goals together. I aim to have open and honest conversations & build a connection with my patients.
In-depth diagnostic process: Our first appointment will be 75 minutes where we discuss everything about your mental and physical health. I’ll also be asking many questions about your lifestyle to understand your current situation and how I can help. I will always consider things like your environment, the health of your gut, and mental wellbeing. Depending on the complexity of your case, I’ll order comprehensive lab testing which will help investigate the underlying cause of your concerns.
Individualized treatment: I am well-versed in various science-backed treatment modalities outside including lifestyle counseling, botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, supplements, and acupuncture. For your treatment, I will create a custom care plan that covers a combination of these modalities that best fit your needs and lifestyle. If it appears that you need prescription medication, I will be happy to refer you to another healthcare provider to ensure the best possible outcome.
